Collected Tales from the Rio Grande by Valley Byliners; Oct. 24, 2010, (2 p.m.-4 p.m.)

Members of the Valley Byliners will discuss their newest book, Collected Tales from the Rio Grande, which taps the Valley’s rich reservoir of lore, humor, and everyday life.

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead); Oct. 16, 2010 (10 a.m. -4 p.m.)

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday when people remember and honor departed loved ones. The Museum of South Texas will celebrate Dia de los Muertos with traditional altars, activities, music and food throughout the day.

Inspired Art for Dia de los Muertos by Tracey Davis; Sept. 19, 2010, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.

Jewelry designer Tracey Davis will display and discuss her unique miniature mosaic creations and how she applies the traditions of Día de los Muertos to her artistry.
