With daylight saving time in effect early this year, Gala guests will be able to enjoy the drive to northwestern Hidalgo County. Springtime will have just arrived; the mesquite trees will be leafed out in bright green, the prickly pear in bloom and wildflowers of all colors will dot the roadside, pastures and brush. Guests will want to watch for wildlife along the way, too.

Upon arrival at Los Novillos, guests will follow a sandy sendero to discover a beautiful grassy, lakeside setting nestled in native brush. After a warm greeting and a cool beverage, guests may enjoy a stroll around the lake to watch the swans glide by or stop to learn more about the native plants that thrive on Los Novillos. All the while, the aroma of beef, pork and venison sizzling on the grill will lead guests to the different stations where they will dine on gourmet food with South Texas flavor, expertly prepared and presented by Don Strange of Texas, Inc. The River Rock Band will get cranked up with some boot scootin’ music so that guests can dance under a canopy of stars.

Be sure to purchase your advance reservation by March 14 and make plans to join us for good food, good conversation and a good cause … preserving our shared borderland heritage at MOSTHistory. Call the museum at +1-956-383-6911 today!

Note: In order to allow museum staff to prepare for this special occasion, MOSTHistory will be closed early at 3 p.m. on March 22. Regular museum hours will resume on Sunday, March 23.
